How do I rename a keyword?
1. Update the full text index
Indexing may take some time depending when the database was last indexed; you can learn more about indexing and creating an index for the first time by following these instructions.
The status bar will update when indexing is complete.
You can also check a database's indexing status by clicking "Count unindexed documents' on the magnifying glass/Search tab of the database properties box. When indexing is complete, the count will show All are indexed.
2. Rename the keyword
When indexing is complete, you can rename the keyword you want from the Keywords : Players section on the left menu panel.
To change the issue/topic keyword Liability\Customer to Liability\Client
- Click on Keywords : Players > issue/topics
- Double click on the keyword you want to rename to open its profile.
Double click on some white space in the profile (or right click and choose Edit) to enter Edit mode indicated by corner brackets around fields.
- Replace Customer with Client to change the keyword to Liability\Client.
- Click on Revise database to new value to rename the keyword and update the database.
The keyword is renamed.
Views are updated from the old keyword ...
to the new.
3. Go to step 1 for the next keyword
You must update the index between each keyword you want to rename or change.
An easy way to do this is by keeping the database properties box open to one side. As you work, it will keep changing but you can ignore that. After revising a keyword, click on the Workspace tab and then the magnifying glass/Search tab of the database properties box. Click on Update and after a pause, Count unindexed documents. When the count shows All are indexed, click on your database's tab and revise your next keyword.
We'll rename the issue/topic keyword Liability\Customer to Liability\Client as an example.
- Click on Keywords : Players > issue/topics
- Double click on the keyword to rename to open its profile.
Double click on some white space in the profile (or right click and choose Edit) to enter Edit mode (you'll see corner brackets around fields).
- Replace Customer with Client to change the keyword to Liability\Client.
- Click on Revise database to new value to rename the keyword and re-index and update the database.
