The existence of document or one or more of its extracts at a specific time may itself mark a key event in the case chronology that is self explanatory without the necessity to elaborate on its importance by linking it to a fact or event profile. From MasterFile v9+, a checkbox in a document or extract profile lets you set them to appear in the case chronology as shown below.
