Tips for working with all profiles

Profile help

Almost all fields have contextual help. Click and hold your mouse over any field prompt with a "?" to see its pop-up help.

Some profiles such as Keywords also have detailed help and syntax explained in a twisty section as shown below.

Opening profiles

A profile is opened from a MasterFile view  just like an email is opened from your inbox. Simply double click on its row, or select it and press the enter key.

Profiles open in view mode. To change to edit mode, double click in the white space of an open profile or right click and choose Edit.

A profile is in Edit mode when you see square brackets around its fields as shown below.

Optional profile fields

Most of the fields in a profile are optional and don't need to be completed. However required fields are always located in the section, "Required Information", and have red field prompts next to them.

Some fields have shaded backgrounds.

Shaded fields are different from others and very similar to the body of an e-mail message. In these, you can attach or embed word processing, image, PDF or other files, and ...

you can also write and format content using paragraph styles, font and font styles, bullets, tables, etc. Formatting is controlled by the Text Property box. To display it, right click in a shaded field and choose Text Properties or press Ctrl-k.
